After further testing following the end of certification wave 21, Cable
Television Laboratories Inc. has granted Data Over Cable Service Interface
Specification 1.1 qualification to ADC Telecommunications Inc.'s 'Cuda 12000'
Internet-protocol access switch/cable-modem-termination system.
The Cuda 12000 is also qualified for DOCSIS 1.0.
The enhanced 1.1 specification calls for enhanced quality-of-service elements
for tiered data services and packet-based applications such as IP telephony, and
it serves as the underpinnings of CableLabs' PacketCable infrastructure.
Cox Communications Inc. and Callahan Associates International LLC's
Germany-based Kabel NRW are among the MSOs to deploy ADC's next-generation
CMTS.
CableLabs kicked off certification wave 22 Monday, with results expected on
or around June 20.
