Actress-comedienne Sandra Bernhard will bring her hard-boiled sensibilities
to A&E Network in the third quarter with a week's worth of late-night talk
show.
A&E senior vice president of programming Allen Sabinson said The
Sandra Bernhard Experience will be an extension of her theatrical one-woman
revue.
The TV show -- flying without punch lines, skits, setups or studio audience
-- will feature Bernhard's takes on fashion, music, style, culture and
celebrities, as well as unbridled interviews with guests.
The network has not yet scheduled a week, or a time, for the show.
Sources familiar with the program indicated that Bernhard's late-night bow
could lead to an extended stay on the network. 'If the audience responds, we'd
be interested in a longer arrangement,' one insider said.
