A&E Plots Strong Start for New Show

A&E Network’s new primetime series, Family Plots, unearthed a decent number of households during its April 19 premiere.

The first two installments of the show -- tracking the professional and personal lives of a family who runs a mortuary -- scored a 1.0 average audience, according to Nielsen Media Research data.

On the demo side, Family Plots averaged 675,000 viewers among adults 25-54, a mark 42% greater than the network’s 2004 primetime average.

The median age of the viewers was 48, eight years younger than A&E’s primetime average and second only to the service’s Airline, with a median-age viewer of 47.
