‘Shining a Light’ Hits High Social Media Note
A+E Networks’ Shine A Light: A Concert For Progress On Race In America drew the lion’s share of tweets for television shows on Friday, according to Nielsen.
The event, which was simulcast on History, Lifetime and A&E, drew 40,000 tweets reaching an unique audience of 4.8 million Twitter users, easily besting the 5,000 tweets generated by MLB Network’s 2015 Esurance MLB Awards telecast, according to Nielsen’s Twitter TV Ratings.
NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Fox’s MasterChef and The CW’s America’s Next Top Model rounded out the top five shows for the day.
ESPN’s Chicago Bulls-Golden State Warriors NBA basketball telecast was Friday’s most social show, garnering 196,000 tweets reaching nearly 4 million unique Twitter users, according to Nielsen.
