A&E Network green-lighted its first 2004 original film -- one that might
have played well on Animal Planet.
The channel will co-produce Pride, a nature drama using
camera-contained rocks and computer imagery to capture a den of lions up close
and personal.
Titanic co-star Kate Winslet, Emmy Award-winning actress Helen Mirren
(Prime Suspect) and Lord of the Rings co-star Sean Bean will
provide some of the lions' voices.
A&E will co-produce Pride with the British Broadcasting Corp.,
ProSieben and Jown Downer Productions Ltd. for a spring or summer
premiere.
