Alberty Named SVP Production At Viacom Int’l
Viacom International Media Networks The Americas has named Michelle Alberty senior vice president of production management and executive-in-charge of production.
In her new role Alberty will oversee production management and financial planning aspects across VIMN’s multi-media portfolio – MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, VH1, Paramount Channel – including original productions, customizations and live events. Based in Miami, Alberty will report into JC Acosta, EVP, CFO and executive-in-charge of Production for VIMN The Americas.
“Michelle brings a track record of significant accomplishment to this new role, from both the original production and tent pole management side of our business,” Acosta said in a statement. “She is a talented and knowledgeable resource who has played a key role in realizing our vision across multiple screens, while maximizing efficiencies and delivering high-profitable productions across all our brands. We look forward to her continues success, as we further invest and expand VIMN’s content output in the region.”
A 20-year veteran of Viacom, Alberty had previously served as VP of Production Management for VIMN the Americas, and her responsibilities included the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards in Mexico, Colombia, Brazil and Argentina,; and MTV’s annual Millennial Awards, Worldstage and Unplugged franchises.
Most recently, Alberty piloted and supervised the company’s original content and reality formats including the upcoming premier of MTV’s Acapulco Shore andCatfish Colombia; Comedy Central’s Stand Ups series in multiple markets; and MTV Brazil’s launch investment of over 300 hours of local production including Papito in Love, Coletivation (daily magazine-style format), Adotada and MTV Sports.
Alberty also has helped produce Comedy Central Latin America’s first-ever Roast with comedian Hector Suarez, and Nickelodeon Latin America’s Isa TKM, Isa TK+ and Sueña Conmigo. In the world of music, she also produced the Latin Grammy winning MTV Unplugged featuring Los Tigres del Norte from L.A.’s Hollywood Palladium in 2011 & Juanes from Miami’s New World Symphony in 2012. From 2001-2009, she led the financial planning and logistics of MTV Latin America’s annual award show, Los Premios, which expanded in 2009 to a multi-city production from Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and the US.
