Animal Planet will team up with global conservation organization the World Wildlife Fund to produce an new eco-reality series
The network has commissioned Granada Bristol to produce six one-hour installments for worldwide broadcast on Animal Planet in 2006 in more than 160 countries and 24 languages.
The series will showcase a diverse group of participants interested in environmental issues, who will be cast from around the world to take on a variety of WWF conservation challenges in Central America and Asia. WWF officials will mentor participants as they learn about the realities of conservation, while coping with extreme conditions, unfamiliar cultures, tight deadlines and the pressures of protecting wildlife.
Candidates between the ages of 18 and 35 are currently being recruited for the series through WWF supporters and Animal Planet international Web sites. Production on the series is scheduled to begin this summer.
