Comcast Corp. has offered a peek into what its corporate structure will be after its merger with AT&T Broadband, a deal which is headed toward finalization at year-end.
The Philadelphia-based MSO last week named the senior management team for AT&T Comcast Corp. At the top is Steve Burke, now the president of Comcast's cable unit, Comcast Cable Communications Inc.
"Steve has done an outstanding job leading Comcast Cable," said Comcast Corp. president Brian Roberts said in a release. "Steve is the perfect person to manage the integration process and help build the combined company in the future."
Burke will oversee six operational divisions — the Eastern, Atlantic, Southern, Mid-Western, Mountain and Western units. The divisions, in turn, will oversee 26 cable clusters.
Some 32 executives have been named to posts within the clusters and divisions. Of those positions, executives are evenly split: 16 will come from Comcast and 16 from AT&T Broadband. All of the appointments are subject to the merger closing some time in the fourth quarter.
Reporting to Eastern Division president Mike Doyle will be David Grain (Boston/Hartford); Ed Pardini (Philadelphia); Rick Germano (Western Pennsylvania/Delaware); Greg Arnold (North Jersey/Connecticut); and Ruth Blank (South Jersey).
Steve Burch will lead the Atlantic Division, overseeing Barbara Gehrig (Baltimore); Jaye Gamble (Washington, D.C.); Jeffrey Harshman (Pittsburgh); and Ellen Filipiak (Miami).
John Ridall has been tapped as president of the Southern Division, overseeing Steven White (Atlanta); Len Falter (Jacksonville, Fla.); Bill Conners (West Florida/Tennessee); and Len Rozek (other Southern states).
The Mid-Western Division goes to Dave Scott, whose team include Joe Stackhouse (Chicago); Tom Unglaub (Minneapolis/West Michigan); Mike Cleland (Detroit); and Rusty Robertson (Indiana/Kansas City).
Trey Smith will become president of the Mountain Division. Under his purview: Mary White (Denver); Paula Trustdorf (Dallas); Gary Boles (Salt Lake City); LeAnn Talbot (Seattle); Curt Henninger (Portland); and Scott Binder (New Mexico/Arizona).
For the Western Division, Joe Fischer will oversee Jeffrey Harkman (Central California); Don Schena (San Francisco); and Debi Picciolo (Los Angeles).
