Avail-TVN Hires Lawrence As Chief Marketing Officer
Digital-video services provider Avail-TVN has recruited Laurie Lawrence, a TV industry veteran who has worked at NBC, CBS and CNBC, as chief marketing officer.
Lawrence, who will be based in Los Angeles, takes over for former CMO Brian Matthews, who left the company earlier this year.
Most recently Lawrence was an independent strategy and marketing consultant. She previously was vice president of strategic plans and corporate initiatives at XM Satellite Radio; vice president of video-on-demand marketing at NBCUniversal; vice president and general manager of e-media solutions for Sony Electronics; director of promotion at CBS; and director of marketing at CNBC.
Privately held Avail-TVN was formed in 2009 when IPTV content aggregator Avail Media acquired video-on-demand distributor TVN Entertainment.
The Reston, Va.-based company claims to be the largest independent digital media services company in North America, providing MPEG-4 linear TV programming and VOD content in MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 to multichannel video providers throughout the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico.
