BellSouth Corp. is launching a 6-megabit-per-second downstream, 512-kilobit-per-second upstream digital-subscriber-line service for $46.95 per month.
The regional Bell operating company’s “FastAccess DSL Xtreme 6.0” service is aimed to compete and, in some cases, to exceed cable-modem service rates.
BellSouth is also offering a 3-mbps downstream service for $42.95 per month and a 1.5-mbps downstream service for $32.95. The company has 2.6 million DSL subscribers.
