BET, Centric Draw Combined 4 Million Viewers For ‘Soul Train Awards'
BET and Centric's simulcast of last night's annual Soul Train Music Awards event drew a combined 4 million viewers, according to BET officials.
The telecast, hosted by comedian Cedric The Entertainer, drew 3.7 million viewers on BET, slightly down from the 3.9 million watchers the show drew in 2010, according to the network. Centric delivered 345,000 viewers for the two-hour special (Centric was not Nielsen rated last year.)
The Soul Train Awards which honored the careers of veteran R&B singer Gladys Knight as well as legendary group Earth, Wind and Fire, featured performances from Common, Cee-Lo Green, Melanie Fiona, Lloyd, Miguel, Mindless Behavior and Tamar Braxton.
