BET Fall Lineup Ready to Go
Black Entertainment Television is set to fire up its fall season Monday, Oct. 4.
New series and specials on the network this fall:
• BET Style: Hosted by Melyssa Ford and RapCity’s Big Tigger, BET Style is the network’s weekly look at entertainment, music, movies and celebrity style, airing Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. (EST/PST).
• Girlfriends: This new sitcom -- airing Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. -- “explores hot-button issues about family, friends, careers, relationships and life facing contemporary African-American women.”
• Soul Food: From Showtime and based on the theatrical of the same name, Soul Food chronicles the lives of a tight-knit African-American family living in Chicago. BET will air the series from the beginning Thursdays at 9 p.m.
• L-Bow Room: A talk show hosted by actor and singer Leon, L-Bow Room will air Thursdays at 11:30 p.m.
• 10th Anniversary BET Walk of Fame: BET will pay tribute to Smokey Robinson Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 9 p.m., with performances by artists including Stevie Wonder, India.Arie, Joss Stone, Gerald Levert, Brian McKnight, Usher and Gladys Knight. BET host and radio personality Donnie Simpson will host.

• The Source Hip-Hop Music Awards: The Source magazine and BET team up again on this hip-hop awards show Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 9 p.m.
• 106 & Park World AIDS Day 2004: Health professionals discuss HIV/AIDS in the African-American community and BET hosts and musical artists promote safe sex in this special, set to air on World AIDS Day, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m.
• BET Rap-It-Up Film Showcase: The network will choose a pair of winners from dozens of independent-film submissions on the subject of HIV/AIDS Dec. 3.
The new series and specials join returning BET shows The Student Center, Rap City: Tha Bassment, 106 & Park: BET's Top 10 Live, BET.com Countdown, Black Star Power Cinema, Club Comicview, BET Nightly News, Coming to the Stage, BET: The Next, Bobby Jones Gospel and Lift Every Voice.
