BET to Launch Robin Thede Late Night Talk Show in September
BET will launch two weekly late night shows this fall as part of its fall programming lineup.
Weekly news satire/talk show The Rundown With Robin Thede will debut Sept. 28 at 11 pm and features the comedian and former The Nightly Show writer as she offers a unique take on the week’s headlines in politics and pop culture, said BET.
The network on Oct. 12 at 11:30 pm will launch a late night scripted series, The Comedy Get Down, which takes a behind the scenes look at a stand-up comedy tour featuring comics George Lopez, DL Hughley, Cedric The Entertainer, Eddie Griffin and the late Charlie Murphy, said the network.
Also on the docket for BET this fall are the Sept. 27 premieres of Face Value, a new game show executive produced by Wanda Sykes which awards cash and prizes for correctly guessing facts about strangers from all walks of life based solely on their appearance and a few personal details; and 50 Central, a sketch comedy series starring Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson that features hidden camera pranks, musical performances and appearances by A-list celebrities.
The network on Oct. 17 will launch Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’Oir: The Mane Event, a reality series that will follow the twists and turns of the hip-hop power couple as they prepare for their celebrity wedding.
