BET’s ‘106 and Park’ Is Brooklyn-Bound With Jay-Z

Black Entertainment Television will take its 106 and Park music countdown show to Brooklyn to showcase performances from rapper Jay-Z as part of a special collaboration between the network, Cablevision Systems Corp and Time Warner Cable.

The special, 106 & Park: Live From Brooklyn will air Nov. 9 and will feature the Brooklyn-born Jay-Z performing songs off his new album American Gangster, along with several classic hits, according to network executives.

As part of its partnership with Cablevision and Time Warner, BET will offer exclusive behind-the-scenes video on demand programming for both operators to air later this month on their respective VOD platforms.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Cablevision and Time Warner Cable for this historic event,” said Denise Dahldorf, executive vice president, content distribution and marketing, BET Networks in a statement. “This episode of 106 & PARK is a unique opportunity for us to bring our hit show to the local community, and it’s especially exciting that the show will be presenting Jay-Z live from his hometown of Brooklyn.”
