Bets Up at TVG

TVG Network said wagering rose 42% in 2004 compared with 2003, rising to $303,490,689 from $213,725,181.

The Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc.-owned horse-racing network said it set a single-day total-wagering record May 1 due to the Kentucky Derby.

TVG also posted a 14% increase in cable- and satellite-television distribution, and the network is currently available in more than 14 million homes.
