VH1’s controversial "celebreality" skein, Breaking Bonaduce,resumes Sunday, Oct. 22 at 9:30 p.m. with former Partridge Family child star Danny Bonaduce in recovery from drug and alcohol abuse but struggling to maintain his marriage to Gretchen.
VH1 said in a release Tuesday that the second season will deal with how substance abuse affects the abuser’s family members. Bonaduce has tried everything to maintain sobriety except religion, which he will turn to next.
First-season highlights (or lowlights) included an off-camera suicide attempt by Bonaduce, in addition to drinking binges, steroid abuse, jealous rages and a 30-day trip to a rehab center.
After the Sunday telecasts, VH1 will reair the episodes on broadband site VSPOT, including unaired scenes and a weekly recap with psychologist Dr. Gary Corgiat, who is featured in the show.
