Patrick K. Brant has been named president of Loral Space & Communications’ Loral Skynet unit.
Brant had been with Loral Cyberstar from 1999-2003, most recently as president and chief operating officer, and he was a leading participant in that unit’s integration into Loral Skynet in 2003.
He succeeds Terry Hart, who left the company to pursue a career in academia.
Loral is currently readying a reorganization plan that should allow the company to emerge from bankruptcy before the end of the year.
