nCUBE Corp. got a major boost for its video-on-demand-server technology, landing a deal to supply Bresnan Communications with VOD servers for its 314,000 subscribers.
Bresnan owns cable systems in Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and Utah. It will deploy nCUBE’s "nABLE" interactive-management software and VOD servers.
"nCUBE provided us with unmatched storage and delivery capabilities that will support our on-demand offerings as it grows, without hidden storage costs or duplication of content," said Shawn Fisher, director of advanced services for Bresnan, in a prepared statement.
nCUBE said its "n4x" server can store 170,000 hours of content and support communities as small as 5,000 homes.
