Buckeye CableSystem is deploying Camiant Inc.’s PacketCable multimedia-policy-server platform, which will allow the operator to offer bandwidth on-demand to data customers.
The deployment includes Camiant’s “QBUS” multimedia-service control, which will allow the 150,000-subscriber MSO to prioritize service delivery based on subscriber requests, application requirements and network capacity; and the vendor’s “QBUS” bandwidth-on-demand application manager, which allows subscribers to access a service portal to provide real-time control over bandwidth speeds.
