EGT Inc. said Cable Bahamas will use its encoders for its conversion to an all-digital network.
The vendor is supplying its “Prelude” MPEG-2 (Moving Picture Expert Group) digital-video encoder and “Aria” native variable-bit-rate encoding software.
EGT said the software provides a 15% improved system performance over traditional open-loop-encoding architectures.
Cable Bahamas provides 250 channels in New Providence, Grand Bahama, Abaco and Eleuthera.
