Cable Hall Inductees Named
The Cable Center has named the seven people who will be inducted into the
Cable Television Hall of Fame Nov. 27 at the Western Show in Anaheim, Calif.
They are:
\u0007 Joseph Collins, chairman of AOL Time Warner Inc.'s interactive-video
division;
\u0007 Ben Conroy, founder of Uvalde Television Cable Corp.;
\u0007 Burt Harris, former vice chairman of Warner Cable;
\u0007 Kay Koplovitz, chairman of Broadway Television Network;
\u0007 Bob Miron, president of Advance/Newhouse Communications Inc.;

\u0007 John Rigas, chairman and CEO of Adelphia Communications Corp.; and
\u0007 Sid Topol, former chairman of Scientific-Atlanta Inc.
The first honorees -- George Barco, Bill Daniels, Irving Kahn, Bob Magness,
Martin Malarky and Milton Shapp -- were inducted in May 1998. Additional members
were inducted in 1999 and 2000.
Yankees Entertainment and Sports Network CEO Leo J. Hindery Jr. will chair
the event, and AOL Time Warner CEO Gerald Levin is the honorary
chairman.
