Antronix announced a family of products designed to address home-networking applications in the Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) pass band from 1125 to 1525 MHz.
The Cranbury, N.J.-based company's three MoCA-based product lines are blocking filters, splitters and drop amplifiers. Each enable the deployment of services over a MoCA-compliant backbone while maintaining performance in the legacy band, according to Antronix.
"We view MoCA as a key component to the challenge faced by MSOs with respect to in-home connectivity," said Antronix executive vice president Neil Tang. "Basically, if you have coax, it works."
Blocking filters, installed at the point of entry into a home, are designed to keep MoCA signals within the residence. The MoCA splitters, which offer 6 kV surge protection and SCTE-compliant F ports, are optimized for the 1125-to-1525-MHz band. The amplifiers are available in various configurations, including internal isolation filters, triplexers for MoCA signal bypassing and forward and return gain selections.
In addition, Antronix is introducing two new voice-over-IP residential amplifiers: the VRA50, a five-port device featuring a passive VoIP port and four amplified output ports with unity gain in the forward direction and passive return; and the VRA900, a nine-port device featuring a passive VoIP port and eight amplified output ports with unity gain in the forward and return directions.Antronix will be showing the products at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2009 Oct. 28-30 in Denver.
