Cablevision Systems Corp. will add ESPN HD to its HD offerings under a deal announced Monday.
iO: Interactive Optimum digital-cable subscribers with HD equipment will gain access to ESPN HD this week, bringing the MSO’s total HD offering to 14 networks.
Also as part of the agreement, Cablevision will add ESPN Deportes to its iO en Español Spanish-language programming tier.
“This is a great addition to our high-definition programming slate, and we are especially pleased to have reached an agreement with ESPN that allows us to provide this highly valuable HD service to our customers at no additional cost,” Cablevision senior vice president of digital- and video-product management Kristin Dolan said in a prepared statement.
