Cablevision Names Vice Chairman
Robert Lemle has been appointed vice chairman of Cablevision Systems
Corp.
Lemle -- who will continue in his role as general counsel and secretary of
Cablevision and vice chairman of its Madison Square Garden subsidiary -- has
been with the company for 19 years.
Lemle fills the spot left vacant by Marc Lustgarten, who died in August 1999.
William Bell, also a Cablevision vice chairman, remains in that role.
Lemle will report to Cablevision president and CEO James Dolan.
'Robert has been instrumental in formulating and implementing the strategic
direction of the company,' Dolan said in a prepared statement. 'We have come to
rely on his thoughtful judgment and insights as we have pursued strategic
initiatives and transactions that have contributed to Cablevision's growth. We
now look forward to his ongoing counsel and guidance in his new role as vice
chairman.'
