Can VH1 Survive Nugent Series?
VH1 said Friday that it is turning Surviving Nugent into a series.
The two-hour special, which originally aired in October, features rock star Ted Nugent holding a "boot camp" to turn "unsuspecting city slickers into rough outdoorsmen," the network said.
Eight to 10 contestants will visit Nugent’s compound outside of Waco, Texas, and compete in challenges that emphasize survival skills.
The series will debut in April.
VH1 is also turning its focus toward tracking down long-lost bands.
The network Jan. 19 will premiere Bands Reunited, in which VH1 personality Aamer Haleem and a camera crew hunted down bands and convinced them to reunite for one night.
Among bands to be featured on the series are Frankie Goes to Hollywood, A Flock of Seagulls, Klymaxx, Berlin, Kajagoogoo, Dramarama, Romeo Void, The Alarm and Squeeze.
