Ken Carroll has joined WildBlue Communications Inc. as president and chief operating officer.
He had been president and chief financial officer at Liberty Satellite & Technology Inc.
Carroll will be responsible for establishing the company's operational and sales structures in preparation for WildBlue's two-way wireless-broadband service via satellite launch next year.
In other WildBlue executive moves:
• Jim Elliot has joined the company as vice president of infrastructure. He had been with Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp.'s commercial-space-operations business unit.
• Thad Mazurczyk is joining WildBlue as VP of engineering. Mazurczyk was previously senior VP of technology for High Speed Access Corp.
• Randy Thompson has come on board as VP of space systems. He had been VP of advanced technology at Liberty Satellite.
• Also joining WildBlue are Patrick Bailey as director of information technology, Joe Ducey as gateway director and Lisa Gillenwaters as director of operations analysis.
