Cartoon's Not Just for Kids
Looking to build on its ratings momentum with the 18-through-34 set, Cartoon
Network will premiere new episodes of a quartet of series from its 'Adult Swim'
block throughout November.
Adult Swim, airing from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday nights, will bow new
installments of Home Movies, Sealab 2001, Aqua Teen Hunger
Force and The Brak Show Nov. 3, 10, 17 and 24.
Since the block's debut in September 2001, Cartoon has grown its ratings for
adults 18 through 34 by 25 percent in this time slot, network officials
said.
Other programs that swim on this adult animated franchise: Harvey
Birdman, Attorney at Law, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Baby
Blues and Mission Hill.
The Saturday-evening adult block, running from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m., has also
been registering growth.
On Oct. 12, the 'Adult Swim Action' franchise, featuring anime programming,
scored a 49 percent gain in adult 18-through-34 delivery versus the same time
period last year, while ratings expanded 25 percent.
Moreover, Adult Swim Action ranked first among all cable in its time period
with viewers 12 through 24, according to Nielsen Media Research data furnished
by Cartoon.
