CBS Interactive Corrals Digital Subscription Deal with PBR

CBS Interactive has come out of the chute with a new digital, subscription service from the Professional Bull Riders.

Beginning with its championship event, PBR is teaming with CBS Interactive on the new service offering rodeo devotees more than 100 live streaming broadcasts, plus on-demand encores.

The content will give subscribers access to every Built Ford Tough Series event, as well as 18 Touring Pro Division competitions on PBR.com. The streaming schedule begin with the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals from Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on Oct. 23-27. In addition, members will be able to access on-demand videos, including replays of telecasts, as well as additional features and historic content. The subscription content will be produced by CBS Interactive Advanced Media.

Monthly and annual digital subscriptions will be offered for $9.95 and $99.95, respectively.

The deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, builds on the relationship CBS has with the premier bull riding circuit. CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network are the exclusive TV partners of the PBR, providing coverage of 25 events annually, including more than 100 hours of original event programming. The cable network will be offering coverage of the rank action this week from the finals in Sin City.

“We’ve had an exclusive partnership with CBS and CBS Sports Network for a year now and have been very impressed with their commitment to bring our fans the best production possible via their broadcast and cable Network,” said PBR chairman and CEO Jim Haworth.  “We are very excited to expand that affiliation to include a relationship with CBS Interactive. Now we’ll be able to provide even more PBR fans worldwide with the greatest bull riding content available at their fingertips and their convenience.

Noted vice president and general manager of CBS Interactive Advanced Media Patty Hirsch: "We are thrilled to form this partnership with PBR and serve their wide, loyal fan base together with CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network.
