CBS Interactive Taps Lundgren for PR Post
CBS Interactive has named Susan Lundgren senior vice president, communications, reporting to CBS Interactive CEO and chief digital officer Jim Lanzone and senior executive vice president and chief communications officer Gil Schwartz.
In her new role, Lundgren, who was previously vice president, communications, at CBS Interactive, will oversee all external and internal communications and public relations efforts for CBS Interactive and its portfolio of digital brands, including CBS.com, CBSNews.com, CBSSports.com, CNET, GameSpot, TVGuide.com and others.
“Susan is an outstanding executive on our team whose successful track record at CBSi, coupled with her past experience, makes her the ideal choice,” Lanzone said in a statement. “We look forward to the many contributions she will make in her new role.”
The move comes a day after CBS Interactive named Lanzone chief digital officer.
“The continued growth and success of CBS Interactive is key to our company’s overall business strategy,” Schwartz said in a statement. “Since joining CBSi, Susan has proven to be a tremendous asset in helping the division successfully build its portfolio of digital brands. She is a seasoned communications veteran with a wealth of technology and media experience, plus terrific relationships with the media, making her the perfect fit to lead the CBSi communications team.”
A 15-year industry veteran, Lundgren was part of Apple Computer’s corporate communications team prior to joining CBS, and was responsible for global strategic communications for legal, government affairs and industrial design. Before that, she was a director at communications agency Porter Novelli and led communications initiatives for wireless tech company Qualcomm.
Lundgren will be based in San Francisco.
