Celebs Flock to MTV Asia Aid
MTV Asia Aid is getting more star power.
MTV: Music Television said Tuesday that it will add specially taped messages of support from United Nations secretary general Kofi Annan, Shakira, Black Eyed Peas, Enrique Iglesias, Ashanti, Franz Ferdinand, Bryan Adams, Jackie Chan, Keane and soccer star Rio Ferdinand to its already-announced list.
And additional personalities to appear at the concert include Vanness Wu of F4; Chester Bennington of Linkin Park; Bollywood superstars Fardeen Khan and Bipasha Basu; Sri Lankan cricket legend Aravinda de Silva; and pop star Alston Koch.
The benefit concert will be held Thursday at the IMPACT Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
The event will be hosted by Alicia Keys and will feature an exclusive performance from Ronan Keating, who filmed a special acoustic version of his song, "I Hope You Dance," this past weekend in Phuket, Thailand.
The concert will air on all MTV Networks channels worldwide, reaching a potential audience of more than 1 billion people. MTV Asia Aid will premiere on MTV2 in the United States Feb. 3 at 9 a.m. (EST) and on MTV U.K. & Ireland at 3 p.m. (GMT).
MTVN is also making MTV Asia Aid available rights-free and cost-free to all broadcasters globally in order to maximize distribution and help generate as many donations as possible for primary recipient UNICEF.

Good Charlotte, Kelly Clarkson, Hoobastank and Simple Plan will perform live, along with top artists from Asia.
Jennifer Lopez will contribute a prerecorded performance, and Sting, 50 Cent, Ricky Martin, Nelly, Green Day, Moby and Keating will offer specially taped messages of support.
