Charter Communications Inc. named Stephen Silva executive vice president and
chief technical officer and signed him to a new long-term contract.
This was the first major executive appointment for new Charter president and
CEO Carl Vogel, who took over earlier this month from Jerry Kent.
'I'm pleased that we're able to recognize Steve Silva for the success he's
achieved in making Charter the envy of the industry as the leader in the
deployment of advanced broadband services,' Vogel said in a prepared
statement.
Silva joined Charter in 1995 and was promoted to senior vice president of
corporate development and technology in 1999.
Prior to Vogel's appointment, Charter signed long-term deals with chief
financial officer Kent Kalkwarf and chief operating officer Dave
Barford.
