Cloud Clears for Tribune
By Staff
published The FCC is expected to remove a regulatory cloud over Tribune Co. in three markets by relaxing the newspaper-broadcast cross-ownership ban.
Following are the Tribune properties that would be immediately affected by the rule change.
Los Angeles:Los Angeles Times and KTLA-TV
New York:Newsday and WPIX-TV
Hartford:The Hartford Courant and WTIC-TV
Tribune also owns The Sun-Sentinel
and WJHL-TV in South Florida under an FCC waiver pending the outcome of the June 2 vote. Since the vote is expected to be favorable, Tribune will no longer need a waiver in the market.
