SACRAMENTO, CALIF. -Several Cable News Network veterans are creating The California News Service, a 24-hour cable outlet, according to published reports.
The officials behind the venture are Ed Turner, a former CNN executive who was also involved in a failed attempt to launch The Forum Network in Washington, D.C.; Ken Chamberlin, a former CNN bureau chief; CNN Headline News veteran Ted Kavanau and Bill Shaw, who has been working for CNN founder Ted Turner.
CNS is negotiating to secure $45 million in financing.
