Comcast continues to bolster its programming offering to the Hispanic community, rolling out 30 or more networks to five markets along the eastern seaboard.
The nation's leading distributor has added HTV Musica, La Familia, Mexicanal, TeleFormula and TVE, among many others services, to its recently introduced MultiLatino package in Baltimore, Washington D.C. and Richmond. The new networks rollouts lift the Hispanic-targeted offerings to more than 50 channels.
Comcast last week made similar additions to its MultiLatino package in its home market of Philadelphia and in New Jersey, where the networks are available to subscribers in Union, Hudson, Essex, Somerset and Hunterdon Counties.
The expansion of the Hispanic package emanates from Comcast's ongoing bandwidth reclamation effort entitled "World of More." This digital enhancement initiative, known internally as "Project Cavalry," opens up bandwidth so the operator can proffer more programming and services to its customer base
The MultiLatino packages, currently deliver a selection of more than 50 Hispanic channels to area customers, along with a choice of English networks, premium channels and video on demand. They can also be bundled to include high-speed Internet and voice services.
MultiLatino video-only packages start at $16.95 on top of regular Comcast subscription, while triple-play bundles begin at $79.85 per month.
Comcast World of More markets are also being introduced to Xfinity, the brand name for Comcast's technology platform, products and services. Meanwhile, the "Comcast Latino" broadband portal offering Spanish-language content to its high-speed Internet customers is available at www.comcast.terra.com.
In the Charm City, Comcast added 35 Hispanic networks, boosting its total Baltimore and Baltimore County to more than 55.
In and around metro DC, the MSO has debuted 30 new channels, lifting its base to 55 for those residing in District of Columbia as well as Frederick, Montgomery and Prince George's Counties in Maryland and Loudoun County and Reston in Virginia.
Further west in the Richmond DMA, 35 new Hispanic networks are now available to customers in the city itself, as well as Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, Louisa and Powhatan Counties. All told, MultiLatino linear package now houses 55 linear Spanish-language channels.
