Comcast Creates Comcast Interactive Media
Comcast Corp. said it created a new Comcast Interactive Media division focused on growing the company’s Internet businesses, and it named Amy Banse president of the division.
Banse had previously served as Comcast’s executive vice president of content development.
The MSO also named Samuel Schwartz executive VP of strategy and development at CIM. Schwartz has been president of Comcast Interactive Capital, and Comcast said he’ll continue to advise the company on investments for CIC.
The MSO said CIM will focus on developing and growing the company’s Internet businesses, including the Comcast.net (www.comcast.net/comcast.html) Web portal, along with growing new interactive and online services.
Comcast didn’t say in the announcement how the formation of CIM would impact CIC or if a new president of CIC would be named. MSO officials couldn’t be reached immediately for comment.
