ComSouth Acquires Valley Cable
ComSouth, a Hawkinsville, Ga.-based cable operator, said Wednesday that it has completed the purchase of Valley Cable TV, a family-owned cable operator in Fort Valley Ga., for an undisclosed sum.
Valley Cable, which has been operated for more than 40 years by the Barnes family, has about 2,000 customers in Fort Valley, a community located about 100 miles south of Atlanta.
"ComSouth is excited to have the opportunity to serve the community of Fort Valley. The benefits of the acquisition will provide residents with advanced telecommunication broadband services, while maintaining the local, hometown customer experience that has made Valley Cable TV successful," said ComSouth CEO Robert Krueger in a statement.
ComSouth added that Bobby Barnes will remain as local manager, Debra Wells will be their local customer service representative and Larry Smiddle will continue as local field technician.
Current Valley Cable customers will begin receiving information on existing services and new offers within the next 90 days from ComSouth.
