Conan Replays Headed For Comedy Central
Comedy Central will air same-day repeats of broadcast network NBC's NBC's
Late Night With Conan O'Brien talk show as part of a one-year deal announced
Wednesday by the two parties.
Beginning Sept. 3, Comedy Central will air Conan O'Brien weekdays at 6 p.m.
or 7 p.m. - hours after the show's initial 12:35 a.m. run on NBC, Comedy Central
senior vice president of programming Kathryn Mitchell said.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Comedy Central will also air each episode in an either late-morning or early
afternoon time slot.
Mitchell said Comedy Central would air each Friday episode of Late
Night on Monday, and would run repeats of the week's shows during
weekends.
Given the success of Comedy's topical series The Daily Show With Jon
Stewart, Mitchell believes that Late Night will appeal to the
network's viewers.
'I'm keen on repurposing, particularly with this show,' Mitchell said. '[Late
Night With] Conan O'Brien is perfect for our audience.'
