Concurrent Computer is upgrading its MediaHawk 4500 video-on-demand server to handle up to 2,300 standard-definition streams, a 40% increase from the initial release in January 2007.
The new software release, available now, broadens supports for Comcast’s NGOD (next-generation on-demand) architecture, and the MediaHawk 4500 also is compliant with Time Warner Cable-developed ISA specs.
Cable operators using the MediaHawk 4500, a two-rack-unit-high system, include Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable.
