Consolidated Expands IPTV Rollout

Rural local exchange carrier Consolidated Communications said Tuesday that it launched its Internet protocol television service in Katy, Texas.
Charter Communications, Sudden Link Communications and Time Warner Cable are the incumbent operators in the Katy area.
Consolidated’s IPTV package, branded Digital Video Services, includes 157 basic and digital cable channels, 45 digital audio channels, more than 1,000 hours of movies on demand and an interactive program guide.
Consolidated counts 239,000 local telephone access lines and 46,000 DSL customers in Illinois and Texas.
