Convergys Names Alltel's Fox President, CEO
Convergys, which provides customer-relationship management systems and services to cable, telecom and other industries, announced that Jeff Fox, previously chief operating officer of Alltel, has been named president and CEO.
Fox, 47, succeeds David Dougherty, 53, who will serve as a consultant to help facilitate a smooth transition, the company said. Fox has agreed to serve as president and CEO for at least one year; he has been a Convergys board member since February 2009 and will continue to serve on the board.
Convergys customers include Comcast,Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications and DirecTV.
Convergys chairman Philip Odeen said in a statement, "The board believes we need greater focus on effective execution, revenue growth, and improved profitability. The board also believes now is the right time to have a new leader and we are extremely pleased Jeff has agreed to lead Convergys."
Prior to joining Alltel in 1996, Fox spent 12 years with investment banks Stephens Inc. and Merrill Lynch. Currently, he is a principal of The Circumference Group, which provides consulting and operations support services combined with investment capital to technology and telecommunications companies.
