Cox Enterprises hired former Senate staffer Joab M. Lesesne III as vice president of government affairs, the company said Friday.
Lesesne, known as Joey, will report to Sandy Wilson, recently promoted to VP of public policy and regulatory affairs. Wilson took the top job in Cox’s Washington, D.C., office when Alex Netchvolodoff retired Jan. 2. She had been VP of public policy.
Lesesne spent 13 years in the U.S. Senate, including chief of staff for former Sen. Ernest “Fritz” Hollings (D.-S.C.). He recently served as VP of Timmons and Co., a Washington-based government-relations and consulting firm.
