As expected, Cox Communications customers in California and Las Vegas will gain access to Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes, the regional TV homes for the Los Angeles Lakers, LA Galaxy and Los Sparks.
The Nov. 7 launch of the services comes in time for tonight’s game between the Lakers and the Utah Jazz.
“We’re happy to partner with Cox Communications to bring Lakers, Galaxy and Sparks fans closer to their teams than they ever have been before,” said Dan Finnerty, senior vice president, Time Warner Cable Sports, in a statement. “Virtually every fan in our territory now has a television option to watch the teams they love on Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes.”
Cox joins the roster of distributors for the two networks that in addition to Time Warner Cable also includes Charter Communications, Verizon FiOS and AT&T U-Verse. Time Warner Cable Sports has yet to reach agreements with the nation’s two leading satellite providers, DirecTV and Dish Network.
