David Bohrman, former senior vice president of progbramming and D.C. bureau chief for CNN, has been named president of Current TV, which was founded by former Vice President Al Gore and businessman Joel Hyatt.
Bohrman replaces Mark Rosenthal as president. Rosenthal's exit was announced two weeks ago, with Hyatt taking over as CEO.
Borhman's political chops dovetail with Current's plans to emphasize political commentary and news analysis, centered on Keith Olbermann's Countdown program.
As Current's president, Bohrman will be based in New York and San Francisco, and will oversee programming, production, broadcast operations, digital and technology and work closely with Olbermann, who is also serving as the network's chief news officer.
