With a recent approval of $4.6 million in grants, the Daniels Fund has surpassed a cumulative $100 million in grants since 2000, the fund established by the late Bill Daniels said Wednesday.
Colorado nonprofit groups receiving grants of $100,000 or more in the third quarter of 2005 include: Colorado Bright Beginnings, $100,000; Colorado League of Charter Schools, $125,000; Goodwill Industries of Denver; $200,000; Leaders Challenge, $250,000; Lutheran Medical Center Community Foundation and Exempla Lutheran Hospice Center, $100,000; OpenWorld Learning, $150,000; Parents Challenge, $170,000, and Rebuilding Together Metro Denver, Inc., $100,000.

The Daniels Fund operates the Daniels College Prep and Scholarship Program and the Daniels Fund Grants Program in Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming and Utah. When cable-TV pioneer Bill Daniels died in 2000, his estate transferred to the Daniels Fund, making it the largest foundation in the Rocky Mountain Region.
