AT&T and Fox Sports said they’ll offer what’s being billed as the first live college basketball game to be delivered in 4K when DirecTV offers Friday night’s NCAA men’s matchup between California and Stanford in the pixel-packed format.
That game, set to tip-off at 10 p.m. ET on Feb. 17, will be a 4K simulcast of FS1’s coverage on DirecTV channel 106. They’ll get together to do the same on March 1, when Washington’s men’s basketball team plays at UCLA.
Those games are part of a broader distribution agreement between AT&T and Fox Networks Group announced in late 106 whereby DirecTV subs will have access to select 4K content from Fox's “marquee sports properties,” including coverage of MLB regular season and playoff games, college football and basketball games and NASCAR races.
DirecTV subs who want to watch require a Genie HD DVR (model HR54 or later) and a DirecTV 4K Ready TV, or a 4K TV connected to a 4K Genie Mini. They also need to be on DirecTV’s Entertainment package, or one that includes FS1.
