DirecTV and Starz Entertainment said they plan to offer a free preview weekend Oct. 11-14, offering all of the satellite TV provider’s customers access to the Starz Super Pack.
The companies said DirecTV subscribers who sign up for the Starz Super Pack during the promotion period will get a $25 Target gift card. Customers must keep the channels for at least two months in order to receive the gift card, DirecTV said.
The Starz Entertainment preview follows a preview that rival Showtime Networks ran with Comcast, DirecTV and other major cable TV operators earlier this month.
Movies available on Starz networks during the DirecTV free preview include The Holiday, The Da Vinci Code, Monster House, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.
The free preview will highlight 12 of the standard definition channels in the Starz Super Pack, Starz (east), Starz (west), Starz InBlack, Starz Edge, Encore (east), Encore (west); the Encore thematic channels; plus the five Starz HD feeds, Starz HD (east), Starz HD (west), Starz Comedy HD, Starz Kids & Family HD and Starz Edge HD.
