Discovery GO Launches on Roku

Discovery GO, the programmer’s TV Everywhere app, has launched on the Roku platform, which includes streaming players and integrated Roku TVs.

The new app for Roku offers authenticated access to shows and series such as Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch, TLC’s My Big Fat Fabulous Life, Investigation Discovery’s Homicide Hunter, and Animal Planet’s Pit Bulls and Parolees.

All Discovery GO products are currently offered on desktop, iOS and Android platforms, while Discovery GO, TLC GO, ID GO, Animal Planet GO and Science GO are available today on Roku and Apple TV (tvOS).

Discovery launched its TVE offering late last year, offering authenticated fare from nine networks-- Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, Investigation Discovery, Science Channel, Velocity, Destination America, American Heroes Channel and Discovery Life.

“Discovery Communications is thrilled to partner with Roku and to have the opportunity to connect with new audiences,” Karen Leever, EVP and GM of Digital Media, Discovery Communications, said in a statement. “The Roku platform’s user-friendly design and brand-friendly environment make it the perfect stage to showcase our diverse, compelling content helping to extend viewership for our networks.”
