Actress Julia Roberts will narrate and appear in Discovery Health Channel special Silent Angels, about the debilitating neurological condition called Rett Syndrome. The special, which showcases the disorder that strikes girls aged six to 18 months, will premiere Aug 27 at 10 p.m.

During the making of Silent Angels, scientists discovered the gene that causes Rett Syndrome. Before the news was publicly announced, Discovery Health was granted exclusive access to record the historic event and capture the reactions as families of Rett Syndrome girls heard the news for the first time.
