Discovery Life Unveils New Series
Discovery Life Channel will mark its Jan. 15 launch with the debut of several new original reality and docu series, the network said Monday.
The network, which officially replaces Discovery Fit and Health on Jan. 15, will debut its evening schedule with the premiere of Outrageous Births: Tales From The Crib, as well as 50 Ways To Kill Your Mother, which follows the adventures of an Irish Tv personality as he bonds with his mother, said network officials.
On Jan. 16 the network will premiere hospital-themed reality series NY ER, then on Jan. 17 Discovery Life debuts Body Bizarre, which chronicles the lives of people with rare medial anomalies. Jan. 18 will showcase the UK-based series Hoarding: Behind Closed Doors.
On Jan. 21 Discovery Life debuts The Mistress, which follows a former mistress who counsels other women; and on Jan. 22 the network will debut parental-based series World’s Worst Mom, according to the network.
“From the shocking to the scandalous, the informative to the enlightening, heartbreaking to heartwarming, Discovery Life Channel’s programming has something relatable for the voyeur in all of us,” said Jane Latman, general manager of Discovery Life Channel in a statement. “Between our bold content, unflappable talent and authentic storytelling, we are excited to debut Discovery Life in January as a must-watch television destination filled with humor – and heart – in the Discovery portfolio.”
