Getty Images will be the exclusive distributor for stock footage from Discovery Communications’ Discovery FootageSource under terms of an agreement announced Tuesday.
Getty is already a key distributor of Discovery Channel Images' nature and wildlife photography.
Still photography from Discovery Channel Images is already available online (www.gettyimages.com), and Discovery FootageSource footage will be available online (www.gettyimages.com/filmspotlight) later this month, the two parties said.
“The availability of our stock footage collection at gettyimages.com represents an exciting new chapter for our business,” Discovery Communications vice president, footage and music services, Discovery Production Group Peter McKelvy said in a prepared statement.
“This offering allows us to open our prized collection to new avenues of use through the best distribution platform available today,” he added.
